Accounts and teams

Accounts, teams, and usage

Manage accounts, roles, seats, usage, and billing.

Scope: The steps below use the current desktop app.

This guide covers account switching, team creation, member and seat management, and controls for included and additional usage. Check the active account's pages for available plans, prices, allowances, and actions.

1. Sign in and check the active account

Follow the Desktop Guide to sign in. The CLI requires its own sign-in flow.

Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar to check whether you are working in your personal account or a team. If you have more than one available account or team, open the submenu under the current name and select the one you need.

Check the team name before starting a task, reviewing usage, or managing members. If tasks or benefits appear to be missing after a switch, first check whether you selected a different account or team.

To sign out, choose Log out from the account menu. For CLI account checks and sign-out commands, see the CLI Guide.

2. Create a team

  1. Open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar, then open the submenu under the current personal or team name.
  2. Select Create a team.
  3. Enter the Team name as prompted.
  4. Choose the seat types and quantities you need. Review the displayed prices, minimum quantities, and total.
  5. If a purchase is required, click Continue to payment and complete payment in your system browser.
  6. Return to Remy, wait for confirmation, and select the new team from the account menu.

The team purchase flow creates the team after payment completes. Opening the payment page or returning to the app does not by itself confirm success. Check the returned status and team list.

To adjust an existing team's seats, go to Organization settings → Billing for that team and use Add or change seats. You do not need to create another team.

3. Open team administration

Switch to the team you want to manage, then select Organization settings from the account menu.

Page What it is for
Members Invite people, check membership status, assign roles and seats, and remove members
Billing Review plans, seats, billing records, and additional usage balances; perform purchases or subscription actions your permissions allow
Usage Review team spending, additional usage balances, and spend limits; manage member usage controls
Plugins Review and manage team plugins and their usage policies

Pages and actions are shown according to the active account's permissions. If an entry is missing, check the selected team and your role first. A member without an administration entry is not necessarily experiencing an app error.

4. Invite members and assign seats

4.1 Invite by email

  1. In Members, click Add member.
  2. Enter the member's email address. Add multiple addresses if the interface supports it.
  3. Choose the Role and seat type they should receive when joining. Select No seat if you do not want to assign a seat yet.
  4. Check the addresses, role, and seat selection, then follow the dialog to send the invitations.
  5. Review invitations that have not been accepted under Pending. After someone joins, check their actual role and seat under Active.

Invited members do not need a separate Remy account. However, joining the team does not mean they already have a product seat.

Invitations do not reserve seats. If too few seats are available when a member accepts, they may join without one. An administrator must then add seats or adjust assignments. Check the member list for the actual result.

If the Add member dialog offers Invite link, follow the controls to enable and copy it. Members who join through the link are not automatically assigned a seat. Configure their seats in Members after they join.

Use the available controls to disable or replace a link you no longer need. An invitation email that has already been sent cannot be unsent. After cancelling a pending invitation, check that it is no longer valid.

4.3 Change roles and seats

Find the person in the Active member list:

  • Under Role, choose a role you are allowed to assign and read its permission description.
  • In the seat column, select Team Standard, Team Premium, or another available tier.
  • Select Unassigned to remove the member's product seat.

Roles determine which team administration actions a member can take. Seats determine their product access and benefits. Configure them separately. If a tier has no free seats, the interface explains why it cannot be assigned. Resolve the seat availability before assigning it.

5. Distinguish sign out team removal and account deletion

Action Result
Set the seat to Unassigned Keeps the person in the team without an assigned product seat
Sign out everywhere Requires the member to sign in to this team again; retains membership, role, and seat, without affecting their sessions in other teams or their personal account
Remove from team Revokes access to this team and releases the seat; does not delete the personal account, and the person can be invited again

If your permissions allow it, choose the action from the member row's ··· menu. Check the person and consequences in the confirmation dialog before proceeding.

Team administration roles are also separate from an agent's permissions to access files and run commands. Actions remain subject to project scope, conversation permissions, operating-system authorization, and external service permissions.

6. Check your plan and usage

  1. Check the active personal account or team.
  2. Open Settings → Plan & Usage.
  3. Review Current plan and Your usage limits.
  4. Read each usage meter and its reset time. For additional usage, check whether Usage credits is shown.

If a usage icon appears beside the message box, you can also click it for a quick view and then open Plan & Usage.

The meters show usage consumed. Read the reset time for each limit rather than assuming all limits reset at midnight. Multiple limits may apply at the same time, so check them separately.

Usage data unavailable means Remy has not obtained reliable usage data. It does not mean your remaining allowance is zero or your usage is unlimited. Restore your connection and check again. If the issue is a missing plan or seat, follow the access guidance shown on the page.

If Manage is unavailable on your personal Plan & Usage page, it cannot be used to change plans. For team administration, use the available actions in Organization settings.

7. Manage additional team usage and spending

Each team member has the included usage associated with their seat. A team can also purchase additional Usage credits. Once enabled, eligible members can continue beyond their seat allowance by drawing on the team's additional usage balance.

Additional usage balances and included member allowances are separate resources. This does not automatically combine every member's included allowance into a shared pool.

7.1 Check the balance and enable usage credits

  1. Open Organization settings → Usage for the team.
  2. Check Usage credit balance for the remaining balance.
  3. If you need to purchase credits and have permission, select Buy usage credits, review the amount, and complete payment.
  4. Use Turn on usage credits to control whether members can use this additional balance.

After payment, wait for confirmation and the balance update. Do not repeat the purchase simply because the browser has returned to the app. Managed plans may not allow you to make these changes yourself. Follow the page's guidance and the configuration set by your account manager.

7.2 Set spend limits

Control What it does
Monthly spend limit Caps the corresponding spending for the whole team
Seat spend limits Sets default additional usage limits by seat type
Spend limits by user Sets a separate limit for a particular member
Usage credit requests Lets members request higher limits for authorized administrators to review

If you have permission, open the relevant control, enter or select a limit, review it, and save. The page explains when it takes effect. Check the saved value after making a change.

A member-specific limit can override their seat type's default, but the team's overall limit and available balance may still restrict usage. Unlimited at one level does not remove other limits or make usage free.

8. Review billing and manage a subscription

In Organization settings → Billing, review the active plan, seats, next-invoice information, and Billing history.

To add or remove seats, select Add or change seats. Review the quantities, charges, and effective dates shown before submitting. Do not calculate the amount due solely from a single seat's listed price.

If cancellation is available and you have permission, use Cancel plan and read the confirmation before proceeding. The current cancellation flow keeps access through the paid period, with the remaining period shown on the page. Use Resume plan to resume the subscription. This is separate from deleting a team or personal account.

9. Common questions

Issue What to check first
A member joined but still cannot use models Is the correct team selected, and does the member have a valid seat?
A seat tier cannot be assigned Are free seats available, and do you have permission to manage them?
A usage limit has been reached Check each limit's reset time. For team usage, also check the credits switch, balance, and member and team limits
There is a balance but usage is still blocked A balance does not replace enabled credits, valid access, or spend limits. Check each message separately
Members or Billing is missing Check the selected team and whether your role allows those actions
A payment or change has an unclear outcome Recheck the team, seats, balance, and billing records before repeating the operation

For app issues, follow the feedback steps in the Desktop Guide. For member permissions, seats, or team limits, contact the team's administrator first.
